How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007666 / WP3149400 Range Surface Element Switch

I ordered the part and watched the installation video. It was exactly as described and VERY easy. I'd order again without question. THANK YOU 

It was diagnosed to be an electric switch behind the temperature dial of stove(the handyman Flacked on me by giving me price and solution, but never called me back or followed trough, so I did the job by myself. I called APP.com with my stove model number, they matches the part. I hadwatch a video on APP.com about how to install a Switch. It took 30 minutes tops 

Watched your video that showed how simple the fix was. 

I checked the element to see if it had continuity . I found that I did so I checked the ininfity switch and it was defective . I replaced and now the stove works as it should . 

Replaced switch 

After looking on this website and found what the problem could be, I ordered the new switch. it was only $45. what did I have to lose. Could have called in amana repairman and maybe with the service charge probably could have spent upwards of $150-250 to have problem repaired. After getting new switch and watching video replaced old switch and sha-zam, worked like a charm. If you need help these guys (Appliance Parts Pros.com) know what they are talking about. 

Installed a new Surface Unit Switch I ordered from Appliance Parts Pros.com. If you can hook up speaker wires to your stereo you can change out this switch. Even though it is easy to do the part came with complete instructions which I did refer to make sure I did it right. Works just fine now. 

Replaced switch for that burner. Part was delivered to my home in less than 24 hrs. 5 connectors on switch to disconnect and reconnect. A half dozen screws to get at and remove switch. 

Replaced. Our model was GR396LXGT and replacement switch was for a GR396LXGT2 as parts no longer available for our model. Max amps on original:11.5 and on replacement 11.0. Works fine for the large element. 

Replace both control switches on left side of stove. Took about 15 minutes to replace everything works great. Problem solved.
