How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5950105 / W10727360 Door Switch

Replaced the 3 switches. This fixed the problem. After reviewing the feedback from previous cases on this problem, I was very careful to not break the small plastic retainer arms. 

Looked on cwd’s that came inside top cover and determined the intermediate switch may be the issue since the dish and lite are controlled by the same switch. Ordered a switch and new holder as I broke the holder removing the switch taking it apart. Parts cost me $27 with shipping and I got them in 2 days. The switch fixed the problem. The switch cost $13. Had I not broken the holder the repair would have cost around $15. I tried to order the switch from Whirlpool but they don't sell the parts to the public. AppliancePartsPros.com saved me a possible service call of a few $100 or a replacement unit for much more all for a simple micro switch that cost me around $15 to fix. Just consider that for a moment. We are so glad to have our microwave back and the best part is we didn't have the expense of having to replace it. 

Replaced the parts. Was very easy to do, since I had the exact parts to replace the old parts. Found a YouTube video to show the process. Was really simple. 

My KitchnAid microwave would not register that the door was closed so it wouldn't start. After unplugging and resetting several times, it still had problems. I then ordered the microwave switches (there are four in my model). After getting the switches I noticed videos on how to test the switches with an ohms meter. It was easy to take the front panel off then identify which of the four switches was bad. Replaced that switch and it works great. My suggestion in the future would be to test the switches first so you only have to order what you need. The switches are rather expensive for what they are. 

Replaced both Interlock Switches inside the upper slot of two-door closure slots. Replaced Fuse located inside at rear wall. 

I ordered all three switches. I should have ordered the plastic interlocks too because it is difficult to remove the switches without snapping off the little hold-down tabs. I broke two. It is also difficult to get all the wires/connectors off the control panel. Other than that, the repair went OK. Good support from AppliancePartsPros.com. I will use them again if I need to repair any other appliances in the house. 

Replaced the switch and while at it replaced the cams to be sure switches stayed in perfect sync. 

Replaced all three door switches in microwave since I did not have the technical expertise to troubleshoot which one or ones were faulty.

It started out with my wife telling me the microwave was not working. When I shut the door and tried to turn it on I would get a message to open and close the door to run but it would not run..
