How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6022522 / WPW10514214 Pressure Switch

Replaced the water pressure switch. 

We followed the instructional videos. Easy peasy fix. Saved ourselves a lot of money! I highly recommend checking this web site out for parts, information and prices. 

Replaced both the mixing valve and the flow meter, after examining both found that the flow meter was the culprit. Decided to save the pressure switch for later repair; but the amount of calcium on top of the soap dispenser was like a limestone cave (leak in line from flow meter). Also the mounting ear on the water mixing valve didn't line up with original sheet metal hole so I had to drill a new one. Cleaned out the Pump filter and the drain line was almost 1/2 clogged with sludge. Purchased this Duet set in 2008. I also adjusted the original pressure switch water level screw and now I am getting wash loads that are finally free of soap. The water in AZ is very high in calcium and I don't have a soft water loop so I will be substituting Borax in every load from now on. I spent most of this repair time fine tuning the water level so that the drum fills enough for the water to fully flow through the clothes. I also ran 6 loads with the cover off to ensure there were no leaks because all the lines were disconnected so I could flush them out. This unit is working better than it did when it left the factory. 

Replaced drain pump and water level switch. 

There are several Youtube videos on solving the F20 problem which was a water flow issue. I did the simplest and obvious fixes, check the intake water lines, outtake water line and checked the filter basket at the bottom.. All good. The youtube videos points to three electronic spots, the flow meter; pressure regulator; and the water intake solenoids. All three have a small circuit boards that it nearly impossible to check or repair. Rather than trying to isolate the problem, it was easier to buy and replace all three meters. The installation instruction videos were excellent. It was a 1/2 hour fix. Most of the time was removing and putting the stuff we had on top of our washer. We had a Kenmore Elite Washer front end. Sorry I cannot remember the model number/ Appliance Parts Pros had the exact parts. They have an excellent customer service department to take my order by telephone. The delivery was within 2 business days. I purchased the 2 day shipping option. All appliances except the toaster requires shipping and delivery asap. I did buy an extra hose ($5) just in case, but did not use it. I was using the washer within 5 minutes of the finished repair, turned the water back on and the power too.. 

Ordered an inlet valve and switch. Read all the information on how to figure out which one was causing the problem. It seemed like it had both problems so I got both and put them in. Problem solved. No more leaking washer into the drum! Thanks, guys! 

Looked on youtube, found there repair video. Watched it, looked very simple to do. They explained it could be one of three parts that were causing my problem. I ordered all 3 for under 145 dollars, delivered the next day. Switched out parts just like video explained and no problems. This was cheaper than spending between 800 and 1200 on a new one. Appliance parts pro is the best place I have used and I have used many over the years. Look up your model and parts, watch the video and figure out if you can handle it and save some money. 

Replaced the water valve and it fixed it, and sending the other 2 parts it could have been back. 

Changed all three of these parts due to purchasing washer used. 

Easy trouble shoot, fill valves made a buzzing sound while filling, replaced valves, problem solved. Tip watch flow into tub normal has a good flow plus you can hear water flow into washer, if you have good flow with fault code its most likely flow meter. It also helps to have a good water level switch on hand, its an easy swap, and eliminates a fill level problem
