How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3115186 / 675813 Thermal Fuse

I watched the video on replacing the Control Panel fuse & it said I needed to rull the fuse out before going to the expense of replacing the entire panel, and showed how to do the replacement. The video was very valuable, as I knew immediately how to go about it when the fuse assembly arrived, 5 days after ordering. @0 minutes after the FedEx guy came, I had the part installed & the dishwasher runs like nothing ever happened. 

Disassembled washer to power board to check AC power. No power at pigtail connection on meter test. No power (120 VAC) across load side of thermal fuse. Restored on replacement of thermal fuse. 

Replaced thermal fuse 

After searching and watching you tube videos on the potential problem, I went with the first option to replace the thermal fuse. I searched online and found appliance parts pro's. com and quickly ordered the part. I found they also sent instructions on how to replace the part which was a huge help because I didn't need a laptop with a video playing nearby.. There is something to be said about good printed instructions.. Not only that, the item came with everything related to the fuse (wires) to replace.. In about 10mins my dishwasher worked again.. I only buy parts from this website.. thanks 

Of course I first checked to see if it was getting any power, it was. Then I took it apart and determined that the thermal fuse was open. (Used a simple multimenter.) and checked with sears for a replacement. They wanted twice as much as I paid for my part from Appliance Parts Pros. The one listed was a different brand than Kenmore, but from seeing the picture on your webpage, I recognized it as the same, ordered it, received it within a couple of days, clipped it in and my dishwasher now works fine. Saved myself a bundle. Thank you! 

I replaced the thermal fuse by following the extremely helpful how-to video on the site. 

Had to take front panel off door to get at the fuse, we have to do this at least once a year. next time it blows we will get a new dishwasher as it is getting old but it does clean dishes well. 

I ordered the part I needed from you all and replaced it. Worked fine for about three washes then something else went wrong. It would just make a buzzing noise when turned on. So I then took it completely apart, and don't have a clue what I did but put it back together and it worked! It took no tie at all to replace the part I ordered but the next ordeal took couple days being that I had to just walk away from it for a day or two before I just got rid of it and bought a new one!
