How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016541 / WPW10185982 Dryer Timer Control

Ordered the exact replacement from AppliancePartsPros.com and installed it without any issues at all. Very easy repair. It took all of nine minutes start to finish. 

The timer is plug and play. Very easy to replace 

After clearing out the inner duct and checking the thermostats and heating element with a multimeter tool, I tested the timer and that was the only one with an open circuit. I ordered a new timer along with a new heater as a precaution as the original was looking a little rough. Simple timer swap and it works like new! Keeping the heating element in case that goes or may just swap out if I get bored.

We had to replace the timer. Took the back panel off, pulled several wire plugs and removed some screws. Pulled out the old timer, inserted the new. Replaced the screws and plugs and put the panel back on. (The part was easy to find and arrived in less than 48 hours.) 

It was a very easy fix. I Googled DIY dryer knob replacement and a video that easily explained the problem and repair popped up. The guy recommended your website so I got on and easily found and ordered the needed part. The part arrived faster than expected and I was able to repair very fast. Like it took me less than 30 minutes.
