It took about 30 minutes to fix. Very straightforward job. Unplugged the dryer and pulled it away from the wall. 7 1/4 inch tap screws held the cover plate onto the back of the control panel. The timer has five connectors on the back. The four on the corners of the mechanism slide right off. The one on the center has a little clip to keep it secure.
I pulled the four off the corners, unscrewed the mechanism held on by two 1/4 inch screws and then took the center clip off.
Reverse the whole process, plugged the dryer back in and slid the knob back on.
Works perfect and saved myself the cost of a repairman’s visit. Probably two, since he would have to order the part.
