How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016888 / WPW10199989 Control Timer

I decided to replace both the lid switch and the timer. I did not want to spend too much time on diagnosing the problem -- just wanted my washing machine to work. I ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPros, and they were delivered NEXT DAY. Videos on the website helped, and the repair job was pretty easy. My washing machine is working great. 

Ordered a new timer, it arrived, it was damaged. looks like someone tried to glue lock tab for harness back on. when I pushed on harness tab pinged off never too be found again. ducktape would hold harness on unless unbalance shake was severe.then when I pushed timer into place to lock in the lift tab busted off, upon further inspection, I think someone tried to install it and probably busted it.i called APP they were kind enough to reissue another. it arrived Friday, May 11th .replaced timer, it works like new again. thank you APPLIANCE PARTS PROSpros FOR COMING THROUGH WHEN WE NEEDED YOU. I won't forget. 

Watched youtube first then did it. 

Purchased timer and knobs (which I had previously broken, probably by inadvertently attaching a moving dolly strap too tightly across the washing machine, and which probably led to the timer problem, too) and watched your timer replacement video twice, then went to work. Entire process took just under half an hour, and went exactly as you said it would. Thanks for the video! It's a great time saver!
