How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006358 / WP22003361 Washer Timer Control

I researched and came to the conclusion that the timer was no longer working. The dial would go "through with the cycles" but actually nothing ever happened. So I ordered the part and installed the new timer onto the machine. Now it works like new! 

Replaced the timer. The only delay was to remove the knob. It took ten minutes to figure this out. On my model, I pried the cap then removed the nuts. All is well. 

Recognized the problem. Ordered exact OE mfg. timer. Rec'd in 5 days. Replaced it myself in 30 min. 

Pretty much "plug and play!". 

Purchased a new timer. 

Replaced timer. Fix was very easy, the worst part was figuring out how to remove the knob! Pry off the middle plastic ring, then remove c-clip under the plastic center. Super easy, worked perfectly. Saved a great old washing machine. Model LAT9406AAE, serial 15249xxxx. MAKE SURE TO READ QUESTION above on will this fit my serial number. Older models may not fit. check your serial number.
