Ordered the replacement bearing & tub seal kit as well as the bearing installation tool, then followed the 35-minute video to do the repair myself. The video was very clear and helpful, except for the early step that involved removing the top cover of the washer. My model was different than that in the video, so removal of the top cover had to be figured out on my own. Once I realized this, it was simply a matter of unscrewing the two metal “hinges” on the back of the washer so that I could slide the top cover forward about an inch to free it from the interior clips holding it in place. Other than this, the job went smoothly. I used the car jack method to free the drum like in the video. It’s probably a good idea to watch the video once completely before attempting the job just so you know beforehand what will be involved. Also, I contacted Appliance Parts Pros before placing my order to check their return policy. The bearing installation tool was more expensive than the replacement parts, so I wanted to be able to return it for a refund after using it for this one repair. I was assured that I could return the tool for a full refund (minus shipping) as long as it passed their damage inspection process, which could take about 30 days. Hopefully they will honor this.
