How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6284346 / W11165546 Water Inlet Valve

Maytag washer is less than a year old. was getting lf code (low fill) so after checking that my hoses had plenty of pressure after I unhooked them. I removed the screens and cleaned.them even though they were both clean. I took apart the top of the washer by popping the back plastic cover off and removed the water inlet assembly. tried to blow it out and clean with compressed air. Put it all back together and tried again and still had barely any water flowing into the drum.... decided to roll the dice a bought new water inlet assembly a replaced it. . problem solved 

The valve you sent was an identical replacement for the one I had. I replaced the valve with the new one and everything is fine now. The Whirlpool wtw7500gt0 only had one hard piece to remove, the control panel. It takes a steel putty knife pushed in at each front side bottom corner joint to release one spring clip on each side. Then pull forward and up and it will release so you can get access to the pump. The total time was about 30 minutes. 

Purchase the replacement - major issue was releasing the console with spring clips to access and replace the fill valve. This youtube video was very helpful (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXKt8bNO7W4) It was a Maytag but had internal Whirlpool parts 

Repair tech came this afternoon, installed new valve, 10 min later it was working fine. 

Temporarily rewired to the secondary cold water valve while I waited for the replacement valve to arrive. 

Replaced the Water Valve Inlet and Wiring Harness 

We have very hard water and our inlet valve was almost completely clogged. We ordered a part. It came quickly. It wasn’t that hard to change out. It was mostly a plug-and-play operation. As soon as we got it back together it worked fine. We like that we can order parts and if we are not sure what we want, someone is always there to help. 

Removed and replaced the water inlet valve. Had to remove the front washer top cover and remove the control panel to gain access to the inlet valve.

For this job my Digital Cabrio top load washer (bought used) was filling inconsistently and then not at all. Some quick internet research pointed me to the water flow control valve. Really easy to find the exact part you need from APP. The actual replacement took less that 5 minutes. The hardest part was figuring how to open the top control panel area where the valve is located. Once you know that trick it's easy. You pop it open from the front on the two sides with a putty knife. No need to open the entire top of the machine as with some of the older Cabrio models. I gave it a difficulty rating of 3 solely due to the top opening mystery. Ran one cycle to bleed the air/etc and then everything works perfectly! Thanks again Appliance Parts Pros!
