Our Amana electric oven stopped producing heat. The bake element would not get hot anymore. I pulled stove away from wall and unplugged it. Removed the oven racks for easier access and simply used a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the element to the back interior wall.
I slide the element forward until the two ends of the element came out of the back wall, exposing the electrical connectors. Next I removed the wire connectors from the element using a pair of pliers for better grip. TIP: If the connectors are hard to remove, rest a large flat head screw against the end of the connector. Then squeeze a pair of pliers onto the end of the element, right up against the screw driver blade tip. Turn the screw driver, which will use the pliers for leverage, and will force the connector off of the element.
Once the connectors are disconnected I removed the element. I tested the element for continuity using a multi-meter. No readings were detected which meant the element was bad.

When the part arrived, I simple reassembled everything the same way I took it apart. I was careful not to handle the new element with my bare hands, to avoid transferring any skin oils onto the element. Oven works fine again. The beauty of it all was I saved down time not having to wait for a repairman and I saved money not having to pay for his labor fees.
