Our Bosch washer had been alerting with a E13 error code The steps to fix the washer were simple, but the actual installation was a little challenging because in order to replace the drain pump assembly without moving the washer, you have to do all the work through about a 5" wide hole. Here are the steps: 1. Remove the front cover at the lower right of the washer by inserting a thin rod through the hole in the round cover and rotating the cover clockwise. 2. If a drain tube is present, pull it out, un-plug the drain tube and drain any water into a pan. If no drain tube is present, you can carefully and slowly unscrew the insert to the pump assembly and use a shop-vac to suck up the water as it starts to come out. 3. Loosen the hose clamp that attaches the inlet hose from the left side of the assembly, and pull off the rubber hose. This is a little challenging because you're working through the small access hole. 4. Slightly twist and pull off the drain hose from the top of the assembly. Also tricky, but there are no fasteners involved and it *does* pull straight off. 5. Push the assembly backward to loosen the rubber feet. You might use a flat screwdriver here. 6. Reach behind and blindly unplug the power supply cord from the pump motor. 7. Fiddle - a lot - to get the old pump assembly out through the access hole. It's possible. 8. Insert the new pump assembly and reverse each of the steps above (in reverse order.) 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
