Margaret O Bloomingdale , IL July 23, 2014 Broken microwave handle From the inside of the microwave door, we unscrewed the screw that was holding the top of the handle. We carefully removed the hard rubber gasket on the inside of the door using a putty knife to pop it out. Once the gasket was pulled away we were able to completely remove the old handle and install the new one. It took about 15 minutes. It would have been faster if we knew we could just pull out the gasket around the door. We weren't sure what was holding it in place and didn't want to break it. 42 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
