Joe R Rison , AR July 07, 2014 The bottom portion of the door handle broke leaving only the top portion still in place After receiving the part, I 'googled' microwave oven handle repair, and saw a video as to how to replace. The top part of the handle was easily accessible from the door being open, but the bottom part of the handle was obscured. I saw on the video how to remove a large 'gasket' surrounding a portion of the inside of the door, making the screw for the bottom part of the handle accessible. Then, it was just a matter of screwing in the two screws, one for the top and one for the bottom! Then just had to pop back into place the large gasket. James H Portsmouth , RI December 22, 2014 Appliance: Model GE JVM 1350 Broken lower end of microwave door handle Partially pried up the gasket around window inside the door to expose the bottom screw. It was a simple repair. Watched the YouTube video that showed this as suggested in a previous post. It was very helpful. The gasket is a bit tight, so seeing it done in the video gave assurance that it would likely not break lifting it! The job took about 5 minutes. The service from ApplianceParts was amazing. I ordered the replacement handle in the afternoon and I had it the next day! Wow! That is incredible super service! Manuel S Sun City , CA November 23, 2014 Appliance: Model JVM1339BW 002 There were two problems the frame around the door was cracked and chipped and the second one was the door hadle broke The handle seemed to be the easiest to fix based on "how To" repair info I found on the Internet! I could not find anything on the frame replacement and did not want to experiment without first having the frame I ordered in hand. I received the parts on Friday afternoon and in less then a half hour I was done. Turns out the frame snaps out and in just like the inner door molding. Now our 17 year old Microwave that still works great now also looks like new again. Anita E Reno , NV November 10, 2014 Appliance: Model GE PROFILE SPACEMAKER The ge oven door handle broke off at the bottom screw I was thrilled to find your site! Not only was the price better than I had seen elsewhere, there were user comments to give me encouragement. I was so close to just replacing my 17 year old oven (imagine!) due to fear of the repair. I followed the written instructions given by one person and also watched a couple of wonderful videos online and Viola! it was done. I simply had to loosen the top screw of the handle which was still intact and visible when you open the door and carefully remove the plastic trim piece from inside the oven door to reveal the lower screw which had broken off. The videos were helpful in identifying this trim piece and showing how to carefully pop it out. I used a thin blade paring knife, popped it out about 1/2 of the way around the oven, replaced the handle and then gently popped the trim piece back into place. Being a 59 year old woman, I was pretty proud of myself! Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
