Chad A Birmingham , AL December 19, 2018 Broken timer on Hotpoint dryer All this took was unplugging the dryer from the outlet (just in case), removing the back panel at the top of the dryer (6 screws Phillips Drive) and 1 screw on the timer itself (6 point Star Drive). I twisted the old Timer Counter Clock-wise and out to remove it completely. To make sure that I did not mix up the wires, I removed 1 wire at a time (all but 1 wire was easily removed with my fingers, the last wire I used some needle nose pliers to get a better grip) and connected them to the new timer. Inserted the new timer Clock-wise, attached the screw and tested the dryer to make sure everything worked. Then I put the back panel back on. The timer came with the metal knob insert already attached (now I have an extra just in case) so I slide the timer knob on. Works perfectly again. I was also very pleased with the speedy shipping. I ordered the parts on a Friday and they arrived on Saturday. I wasn't expecting them until Monday. Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
