Thanks to YouTube and AppliancePartsPros I was able to remove the panel and replace it quickly and easily. At first I had thought that the child lock was engaged, but due to a couple searches on online found that the control panel's buttons had most likely shorted out.
My wife appreciated the speedy delivery and I was quite pleased to find out the repair was so easy and saved us a lot in repair fees!
