Researched possible causes. The bottom of the exhaust duct after the blower fan wheel was half way obstructed with dried out sandlike particles from drying rugs with rubber backing. This lack of air flow created a heat build up that caused the thermal fuse to open shutting down the burner assembly. The dryer cabinet had an excessive amount of lint build up where no lint should be. The foam seals for the exhaust duct had broken down as this dryer is about 20 years old. This gave lint an abnormal travel path. Used a vacuum cleaner along with compressed air to rid the dryer of lint. Once clean of lint, removed remaining seal material and adhesive from duct for the blower and the exhaust duct area where the air exits the drum. Inspected the drum rollers, drum seals and other components which appeared to be okay for now. Installed new seals and thermal fuse. Reassembled the dryer and tested the dryer cycles. All cycles functioned normally. FYI: I did use a multimeter to test electrical components to eliminate guessing what was wrong. I also cleaned out the exhaust duct from the dryer to the outside vent.
