My Kenmore elite upright freezer model started buzz beeping and interior light blinking, but only when I opened the door while the compressor was running. It would not stop until I closed the door, and then the freezer would return to normal. It never had any error codes and didn't do it if the compressor was off.This happened for several weeks until I opened the door one day while the compressor was running and the freezer shut off and random lights on the control panel were on. I unplugged the freezer and pulled the control panel off with a 2" putty knife and visually inspected it but I found nothing unusual. So I put it back on and plugged the freezer back in and different lights were lit up on the control panel than before but the freezer interior light was still off and the compressor never started back up. Then I knew the control panel was the issue.
