Vincent M Village Of Lakewood , IL May 30, 2016 Appliance: General Electric Built-In Electric Wall Oven JTP55SM1SS Ge Oven Jtp55sm1ss: Damaged control panel. How to replace Button Board Housing (Control Panel Assembly). Using the parts diagrams available on the Appliance Parts Pro's website, I was able to identify that my double-oven's control panel had not been previously converted. I took an educated guess that these 3 parts are all that is needed to convert my oven's control panel to the newer design. I was correct! The repair itself is fairly simple. I turned the power off to the oven and using a 1/4" nutdriver, I removed the control panel. There are a few pieces that have to be swapped over from the old assembly. The most difficult part of the job is aligning the self-adhering faceplate to the new button board. The end result is that my 8 year old oven looks & works like new again! 16 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
