This repair could have killed or maimed me -- really! Left door spring snapped. Online search, APP was only source with both door spring and linkage. Discovered link for APP repair-instruction video (not very well marked on parts page). This well-done video really helped build my confidence. Common sense told me to also replace unbroken spring and both linkages. Parts + shipping = $75 -- wow, that hurt. Surprised how fast the parts shipped & arrived by ground! This is going to be easy! Removed 2 Phillips-head screws holding the dishwasher, slid it out. Removed the broken spring. Decided to first replace the unbroken spring. Took hold of that spring with my hand to stretch it to unhook it. There was a very loud explosion as the spring hook broke and flew off; the stretched spring coils collapsed trapping the skin of my fingers between the coils. My fingers bled all over the place. No one home at the time, I wrapped folded paper towels around largest wound to help staunch the blood flow. I lost track in my mind how the springs were oriented and where they were hooked. Went back online; APP had a video showing how to replace the linkages which showed how the springs were mounted. Finished the job. Note ahead of time which holes the spring hooks are hooked. BIG LESSON LEARNED is safety first! Wear heavy gloves and safety goggles when tackling this repair. Come to think of it, the gentleman in the instruction videos wore gloves and safety glasses! Although the linkages are very expensive, replace both springs and linkages. After discovering that APP is open 24/7 with online and phone help, and APP has 2.1 million parts in stock, and APP is very efficient, then I understood why the parts are expensive. Yet APP prices aren't really out of line with other suppliers.
