Brian B Myrtle Beach , SC March 09, 2017 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GLD6904R10BB Ge Dishwasher Gld6904r10bb: Dishwasher stayed on "sensing" and counted down but would not start. How to replace Interlock Switch. Installed 2 new switch interlocks. I actually had standing water in dishwasher and thought it was the pump. But I checked continuity, and it was fine. I thought it was the water inlet valve, and it too had continuity. I tested the OLD interlocking switches, and THEY WORKED. BUT only when the side button was completely pressed down. (The plunger wasn't wide enough to completely press down the switch). The NEW switches (closed the circuit) when only PARTIALLY depressed. This allowed the dishwasher to complete the sensing mode and start the other process. While I had the door apart, I also replaced plunger, spring, cover and door latch. Through trial and lots of ERROR :), the entire process was about 3 weeks. Actually FIXING the problem, less than 15 minutes :) 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
