Wayne R West Hills , CA September 13, 2021 Appliance: Amana Gas Dryer LG1009W Amana Dryer Lg1009w / P1177602w W: The dryer did not heat up. How to replace Dryer Igniter. Replaced almost all sensors due to age and a lack of test values. Worked for about a week and stopped heating again. Disassemble again and noticed the plastic stem that adjusts gas flow was backed out on the gas valve. Tightened the lock nut but that was fixed to the stem. Found the blower thermostat was open. Replaced the thermostat again and everything works. Reasoning is that too much gas flow caused an overheat. 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
