I did some troubleshooting online and determined that the motor needed to be replaced. A youtube tutorial guided me through the entire process for my stacked Whirlpool appliance. What I thought to be a daunting task turned out to be relatively easy. It took a bit longer than expected, but I also spent extra time to remove and grease the support rollers for the drum.
