The error code E06 prevented the dishwasher from running. A search online determined the error code involved the door lock, although the door lock appeared to be working fine.
We bought door-lock parts (2 parts) from AppliancePartsPros.com and replaced components. That did the trick. We had already resigned ourselves to replacing the Bosch dishwasher, so it was great when the dishwasher started up with no problem. A Youtube video helped to see how to access and replace the defective parts.
