Jeff W Fairbanks , AK February 20, 2022 Appliance: Model SHPM65Z55N Dishwasher door would not latch shut My door lock assembly on my two year old Bosch dishwasher decided to break apart. I ordered the replacement part and had the thing installed in 15 minutes. Pulled out the appliance, disconnected the old assembly, put in the new one and reinstalled the washer. I didn't bother with installing the recessed latch as this was still working fine. Easiest appliance repair yet! My repair did differ from the video slightly as I have another part connected to the lock assembly for the automatic door release. There are two push latches that need to be pushed in with a small screwdriver, then this lock assembly can be gently pushed out from this other part. Also, if you're waiting for your part and can't do your dishes, you can use one or two wood clamps between the washer's hand pull and your kitchen counter to keep the door shut enough to do your loads. Thanks to Appliance Parts Pros, this is my fourth self-repair and I appreciate their high quality information that helps me DIY my own repairs. Read More...
