The blades of the ice dispenser drum had both broken, so the spindle rotated freely inside the drum. Ice would basically have to fall through the hole by chance even though the auger was turning.
Our ice maker model had a one-piece drum & auger, so I ordered both parts of the two-piece replacement set. They came with everything needed to complete the repair. Not much in the kits to explain the actual details of take-down & assembly, but if you are mechanically inclined the parts order has a certain logic to it. The repair took about 30 min.
