Russell R Mc Lean , VA July 25, 2021 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator ED25DQXAW01 Whirlpool Refrigerator Ed25dqxaw01: My ice maker stopped working. How to replace Alumilastic Cement. Tested the "head" of the ice maker and found the thermostat was not working. Used the video at Appliance Parts Pros to learn how to use the Alumilastic Cement and after unplugging the side by side, I removed the thermostat; cleaned off the old cement; replaced the thermostat, and applied a glob of cement. I noticed that the metal water feed tube for the ice maker at the back of the unit was full of ice. I carefully removed the ice. I could use a pointed chopstick before reassembling the ice maker. Some ice remained in the upper curved part of the feed tube however, I had to leave the house so I reassembled the unit. When I returned there were ice cubes. 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
