Scott R Durham , NC July 06, 2015 Icemaker stopped working Using online information about test ports I was able to narrow the problem down to either the thermostat or the motor/control module. To cover my bases I ordered both parts plus the alumilastic adhesive that is needed for the thermostat replacement. Removing this particular icemaker without removing the freezer shelves is a bit of a contortionist job, but it is possible with patience. Indeed, the motor/control module was at fault since one of the heater contacts had burnt/melted. Replaced the module and the thermostat and reinstalled and we were back in business. 59 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours
