Geoffrey W Crofton , MD September 30, 2014 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG DW80F600UTS Over level water error on samsung dishwasher We replaced the sensor on the side of the dishwasher. We needed to uninstall the dishwasher. After we did that, we re-attached the wiring and plumbing so that we could see the little float inside the sensor assembly float past the upper limit and so that the water would make a circuit with the two wire leads at the top. That gave us good evidence that the sensor was bad (because the failsafe was activated). So we swapped out the part after ordering a replacement. We did have to put the dishwasher on its side to make the change. The first time we tried it after the replacement, the error reoccurred (water filled to the top), but we tried it again and it worked the second time. Once we were confident that we repaired the dishwasher, we reinstalled it into the cabinet. A parts supplier said that he saw lots of these parts in stock. So, with Samsung being new to this appliance market, he figured it was a design flaw and a common problem with the part. Too bad it failed 14 months into a 12 month warranty. 79 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
