Based on research I determined that the possible causes were the control board, the clutch assembly, or the diverter/clutch motor. Since the washer made no unusual sounds when attempting to start, I did not think the clutch was likely to be the issue. The control board was quite expensive, so I decide the most likely failure was the inexpensive (cheaply made) motor. This turned out to be an accurate assessment. Appliance part pros shipped the item same day of my call and I received it the next day. Was very pleased with my first experience with them and would recommend them to anyone needing parts.
