Entrance to my ice dispense in my Kenmore Elite side by side refrigerator was located beneath the ice compartment.in the freezer door. After removing the ice holder I had to remove 2 screws holding the shaft that runs from the motor to the rod that turns in the ice holder. The screws holding the plastic cover over the motor had to be removed. In my case the motor was encased in ice and I had to use a hairblower to remove free the motor from the frame. I used an ice pick gently to break up the ice . After lifting the motor out it was easy to replace the new motor and hook the electrical connection.
