I had to replace the hi limit thermostat (easy, easy), Then I replaced the idler wheel (do it from the rear of the machine. The hardest part of that one for me (I'm 77) was getting up and down. Also getting the retaining clip back on took me some time. Then I replaced the regular cycling thermostat (also easy) and finally the belt (easier because I did it from the rear of the machine). While the machine was open I vacuumed it, took out the heating element to test it, disassembled and cleaned the lint filter bulkhead of 30+ years of lint. cleaned the duct running outside. Reassembly was fairly easy. I feel like I know the machine inside and out and it runs great now.
