Took out the inner and outer tubs to offer better access to both bearings and the main seal. One YouTube video said remove both, the other said you only need to remove the inner tub. I found I cold not get the inner (front) bearing out of the outer tub until I removed it. It took a lot of effort to remove the 15-year-old bearings, but once they were out, the replace/rebuild portion went fairly smoothly. I had to use a slide hammer to get the rear bearing out, and a heavy hammer with a bearing disc to pound out the inner bearing. Not quite a "pressed fit," but close!
