James F Forest , MS November 06, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer A612S Maytag Washer A612s: Pump pulley hard to turn. How to replace Pump And Drive Belt Kit. Removed washer front ( two screws ) Placed two 8" blocks under front feet of washer. Removed pump drive belt. Loosened two hose clamps and removed hoses from pump. Removed three ( 3 ) screws holding pump to washer with nut driver. Installed new pump and belt. Replace hoses on pump and tighten clamps. Remove blocks and wash one load to check for leaks.
