After reading about the potential problems that could cause this issue, I discovered the coils in the freezer were iced over. I decided to order all three parts that could cause this, but ultimately the defrost heater was the culprit. I decided to save the other two parts for the future. I was relieved not to have to call a technician to perform the repair because my past experiences with repairmen have not been positive.
