I did a search on appliancepartspros.com by entering the model # of my Samsung dryer for the correct part # for the heating element. Found the part and read the reviews. I also discovered for just a couple of dollars more I could purchase the complete heating element assembly, which included the Samsung dryer thermistor and thermal fuse (fully assembled) for just a couple of dollars more than just purchasing the heating element alone. note: These parts were on sale at the time.
I watched the video, which was extremely helpful, to see how both parts were installed and decided to purchase the heating element assembly. I have a different model than the one depicted in the video (white with a solid dryer door), but the internals are the same.
I removed the heating element assembly from my dryer, per the video to make sure I had the correct part.
I ordered the part on Labor Day and received it on Friday. I received the part in perfect condition and since I had already disassembled the dryer once I received the part it only took me about 30 minutes to put it back together. It worked Great. Kuddos to "packaged by SLM".
What I learned from the reviews, the video and my experience:
1. Watch the video. I watched it several times.
2. As per the reviews take a photo of the wiring or make a wiring diagram to make sure you
reconnect the wires properly.
3. For a couple of extra dollars order the heating element assembly. It will save you a lot of time
during the install.
4. The heating element I replaced was installed three and a half years ago under the warranty
and it was an OEM part. I found parts on other websites a lot less expensive, but in reading
the reviews i found that some of these parts were failing after only a few weeks to a few
months. I am expecting better performance from the part I purchased from this website. If
not I will do a follow-up review.
5. Very pleased with ease of navigating the website, the video, the packaging and the delivery
time..
Hope this helps. Thanks
