Do-It-Yourself Story

Basically it was a minor overhaul. The entire stove top had to be removed, the old gaskets scraped off, and the felt pads on top of the burner modules had to be replaced. It wasn't complicated, just tedious. The insulation in the wires to the ceramic igniters had to be replaced or they could have shorted out against the adjoining metal surfaces. I used polyolefin shrink tubing and it worked well. Once the repairs were completed and things cleaned up, everything fired up properly and we're back in operation. I was happy with the timely delivery which limited the inconvenience.
