This is a #10-32 threaded acorn nut, also known as a cap nut, featuring a domed top that covers exposed bolt ends for a finished appearance and to prevent snagging. It is used as hardware in dryer assembly to secure panels or components. Replace if the nut is stripped, corroded, or missing, which can cause loose panels or rattling noises during operation.
