This throttle assembly cable is manufactured by Craftsman, but also used by Poulan, to regulate the flow of fuel to certain small gasoline-powered engines. This assembly houses the throttle trigger that is used by almost a dozen different machines, including not only trimmers, but also pole saws and other small gasoline-powered tools. Apart from the cutting edges of the pole saws and trimmers, the parts of these devices that sees the most wear and tear, and is most likely to fail, are the throttle assemblies. Whether banged about because of proximity to the throttle trigger or simply because it's the only part protruding from the mid-body of the typical weed cutter, the throttle assembly housing and cable are susceptible to failure. Most often, failure of the cable is the result of one of the buds, attached at the ends to clasp securely, having broken off. In this case, the gasoline engine may start, but will not rev or only does so sporadically. Replacing the cable is a matter of removing the throttle housing and trigger as well as detaching the cable from the carburetor. When replacing the cable, be sure to use one like this, which is a genuine OEM replacement part, manufactured to replicate the specs of the original.

Right-hand throttle housing for gas line trimmers. Protects internal throttle components. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing for proper handle assembly.
This replacement part is a screw. This part is a genuine replacement part made by Husqvarna. Screws are small but important in many different types of machinery. Screws are able to hold different parts in place and help them stay secure during use so that the machine can operate smoothly and efficiently. A new screw might be needed if the current one is missing or damaged in any way. It is possible that the screw can become stripped over time and therefore not stay in place properly. If this is the case it is recommended that it be replaced. This repair should be fairly easy and only require a screwdriver and possible pliers. This part is sold individually and is sourced directly from the manufacturer to ensure proper fit and long-lasting use. Note that This is a genuine OEM replacement part.

This authentic OEM replacement on/off switch is a safety measure that manufacturers install to prevent the chainsaw or trimmer from starting before the operator is ready. It also allows the operator to stop their appliance at a moment's notice if they lose control of it. The on/off switch is located in or near the handle of the appliance and must be in the on position for the appliance to start. If hit to the off position, the appliance will immediately stop running. Switches can slowly wear out over time due to repeated use. When it wears out, the switch will no longer give the same amount of resistance and may be tripped more easily. This can be frustrating as it means that the operator would have to continually restart their appliance. To replace the switch, use a screwdriver to access the handle interior and detach the wiring from the old switch. Install the new part and reassemble. This switch is a high-quality replacement part for Craftsman chainsaws and trimmers, and as such, it comes sourced directly from the original manufacturer. This part ships individually.
This trigger, used by Poulan and Weed Eater trimmers and edgers, controls the flow of gasoline into the carburetor so as to increase or decrease the speed of the rotating trimmer twine. The trigger is attached to the trimmer's throttle cable assembly. Though designed and used specifically by Weed Eater and Poulan, more than 85 different gasoline-powered devices use this trigger to regulate gas flow. While made of rugged plastic, the throttle trigger is often susceptible to more wear and tear than almost any other part of the trimmer. It sticks out away from the body of the device and thus is most susceptible. Being constantly squeezed, banged into other pieces of equipment, cement sidewalks, trees, landscaping barriers, and the like, throttle triggers can become bent, broken or irreparably disconnected from the throttle of the yard tool. Replacing the trigger begins with draining fuel from the trimmer's tank, then removing the throttle housing. Remove the throttle cable from the old trigger and install it in the new trigger. Replace the throttle housing. When replacing the trigger, it's best to use a genuine OEM replacement part, like this one, machined to be identical to the original.
