The Spark Module is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool ranges. It is an electrical component that generates the spark needed to ignite the gas burners. By sparking consistently and reliably, the module allows the cooktop burners to ignite with each use. 

Causes of a bad spark module can include normal wear and tear over time, exposure to moisture or residue, or issues with the electronic components that produce the spark.

Symptoms of a bad spark module include:

• Burners that will not ignite or light consistently  
• Burners that ignite but then immediately go out
• Only some of the burners lighting while others do not
• A clicking sound coming from the ignitors but no visible spark

This electronic control board is the appliance's main controller. It interprets keypad/sensor inputs and energizes the correct loads so cycles start, run, and finish as selected—restoring reliable operation when the original board fails.

• Coordinates cycle timing and selected options

• Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug before servicing
• Use ESD protection and handle the board by its edges
• Document and transfer connectors one-by-one; reuse any mounting hardware as needed
• Follow the service manual for any model-specific programming/calibration or diagnostics after installation

This is the main electronic control board that manages the appliance's user interface and core cycle functions, restoring responsive controls and reliable operation when the original board fails. What it does:

• Processes user input and runs selected cycles; the board coordinates timers, relays, and electronic commands.
• Restores control when buttons, displays, or cycle selection become unresponsive.
• Can resolve erratic operation, unexpected shutdowns, or failure to start when caused by a failed control board.
• Works with the appliance's sensors and power relays to sequence functions safely.

• Disconnect power (unplug or switch off breaker) before any service to avoid shock or damage.
• Handle the board by its edges and avoid touching contacts; use an anti-static strap if available.
• Transfer any mounting brackets, connectors, or user-interface assemblies as needed from the old board.
• After installation, restore power and verify the control responds and cycles run normally.
