This rear latch assembly secures the dryer door so the appliance can latch and run properly. It replaces a worn or broken rear latch to restore reliable door closure and help the dryer start and stay closed during cycles. What it does:
- Secures the dryer door to engage the door switch so the dryer will start
- Keeps the door closed during operation to prevent interruptions mid-cycle
- Replaces a broken, bent, or worn latch that prevents the door from latching
- Commonly used when the dryer won't start, stops unexpectedly, or the door won't stay closed
What's included: Includes: one rear latch assembly Install notes:
- Disconnect power (unplug or switch off breaker) before beginning any work
- Installation may require removing the dryer top or front panel; follow the model's service instructions
- Handle panels and metal edges carefully to avoid cuts
- After installation, verify the door latches securely and the dryer starts before reassembling all panels
