Nicholas G Wappingers Falls , NY October 10, 2016 Appliance: Model 253.44383402 Broken water actuator (paddle on water dispencer) Removed the water and ice dispenser from the freezer door and replaced the part Some screws were rusted and were hard to remove The ice dispenser was surprisingly dirty so the entire unit had to be cleaned. The electrical connection on the face plate pulled off during disassembly. Your customer rep. helped me with that. The videos were a BIG help. The refrigerator did not completely come back on when power was restored, Turning off the power for about 15 minutes reset the computer and solved that problem. Not only was I able to find the actual broken part easily on their website, they had a step by step video on how to change out the actuator. The part was shipped quickly. Linda R Locust Grove , VA January 06, 2017 Water dispenser lever broke off Ordered the Actuator part, and watched the video on installing the actuator. The video was not for the specific actuator part that I ordered (electrical connector for the actual part was not included), but it gave enough instructions that my husband and I accomplished it! We ran into one problem with reconnecting the water tube -- it was so short that it was impossible to reconnect, so we had to remove the bottom grille on the refrigerator and push extra tubing upward into the water dispenser.
