Kathie R Burlington , WI January 15, 2016 Appliance: Model 417-99570150/ SERIES 95701 Dryer would not turn on The dryer is a Kenmore Laundry Center, model 417-99570150. Bought in 1998, so it is an older model. Not wanting to buy the newer ones that are out now. We opted to fix the Kenmore. Just believe the older models are worth fixing, if at all possible. Frist we had to figure out what parts we would need and if the cost would be worth our time. I went on YouTube: and type in Kenmore dryer not turning on. Watched several videos to narrow down the possible problem. Next step was to disassemble the dryer, which was intimidating at frist, but, the more I took apart the simpler it was, when I actually could see the inner working of the dryer. Its pretty basic inside. Took the parts I wanted off and, some I was not sure of and ordered them from AppliancePartsPro.com. I Searched many sites for the parts and APP had the same parts as Kenmore and other sites, plus they were considerable cheaper. Got the parts in a couple of days, all parts were in good condition, new, and heavy duty. I took off old part and put on new part. Did this until all parts were replaced. When taking off wires I color coded the clip to be sure the wires were reconnected correctly; When I got the dryer apart I could see what needed to be replaced, the bearing and drum support shaft were broke. Some wires on the back of dryer were melted, so needed to replace the thermal limiter, dryer heater assembly was falling to pieces. Also the Front felt glide assembly was worn needed to be replaced. Totaled up the cost of new parts, and it was a no-brainer. Can't remember exact cost, was under $160.00. I will add too review when I find exact cost. Time it took taking dryer apart, about 45mins, taking parts off and replacing about 30mins. My husband cut the wires (where they melted) and spliced new wire in and put shrink wrap where they spliced together, about 45 mins (If you need to change any wires, make sure too use same gage as old wire). Put dryer back together took about 25min. Except for taking out drum and putting drum back in, and splicing the wires together. I being a 62 year old women did all this myself, I do say it was easier and not as scary as I thought it would be. I would do it all again if I had too. The dryer has been up and running great for a couple of months. Just hope the washer stays running!!!! David B Clinton , CT May 16, 2017 The dryer tube on my sister in law's stack unit was wobbling and making a horrible noise Checked online and found the possible cause as a worn drum support shaft. The information on AppliancePartsPros.com site was very helpful. It lead me to the correct parts, showed me a detailed video on exactly how to replace the shaft, told me what parts I would need and provided an easy to use ordering system for the part. On top of that, the parts arrived one day after I ordered them. GREAT SERVICE!!!
