Frigidaire 807545702 Console Assembly (Control Panel) OEM Part

My husband expected we needed a new dishwasher but I insisted on trying to fix it first. You need a Torx screwdriver so make sure you have a set. A little difficult to get cover back on and lined up by myself, but I managed and this was my first attempt at major appliance repair. I replaced the entire console and the dispenser. Still working after 3 loads so my husband may have to eventually admit that I fixed it.

Contacting the manufacturer regarding the error code yielded two potential issues; control board, or console assembly. Ordered the control board and performed a quick replacement and received the error code again. This meant that it was caused by a faulty console assembly. Appliance Parts Pros was extremely easy to contact, unbelievably helpful and understanding and stood (stands) behind their service. We successfully returned the part and ordered the console assembly with standard shipping. Surprised to have received the part within 1.5 days after ordering. The replacement was a straightforward detach and reattach (DIY video online) shows the how to. Now after a year of non-functional dishwasher, it's running smoothly again. One thing I may do is to run a bead of silicone caulk around the top button panel, as complaints about the console assembly revolve around water corroding contacts.

Was fortunate to have a second dishwasher of the same type. I took the button console assembly from good d/w and hooked it up to the bad one. It worked. Ordered a new console and ops check good. Pulled apart the bad one, and some water must have gotten under button pad as the start button sensor underneath was rusty.

Replaced the selector control. Main board was ok. Transferred board to new control housing.
