The recommended fix was to replace the oven sensor and/or Electronic Control Board, or ECB. Unfortunately the probe did not fix the problem and had to install the ECB. The good news is that worked fine. Ordering the parts from Appliance.PartsPROS.com was easy and the instructional video's were very helpful. I saved a bunch by doing the job myself. Thanks! Elizabeth S Bellbrook , OH August 22, 2026 Appliance: Kenmore Electric Range 79095059312 Randomly while baking oven would turn off completely restarting the clock cooking in the oven became unreliable at the same time the stove top worked perfectly We pulled the back off the appliance got out our multi meter. We checked the thermocouple and the two heating elements and all seemed to be in good order. There was no visible issues with wires or the power coming in. The only thing left was the controller board. We ordered a replacement controller board and a new face sticker (which is required for the front buttons to work). My husband unplug the old one and plugged in the new one, with the new face sticker which matches our black stove. This took around 45 minutes because he was working very carefully. It started working right away. The stove top continues to work. The oven has baked 2 things without an issue. Total cost under $. So we saved around 800$ additional to buy a new one and we kept this out of the landfill for several more years. Thanks! Read More...
