Seth B Needham , MA January 02, 2015 Oven door would not close tightly I bought replacement hinges and installed them myself. The hardest part of the job was the first part: to remove the oven door you have to lock the old hinges with small brackets, and one side did not want to lock--I had to use a hammer. The door was heavier than it looks, but the only challenge after that was the fact that the edges of the door parts were sharp. I probably should have worn gloves when handling them. You have to take the door apart to insert the new hinges, but it's just unscrewing bolts. Everything fit fine and the new hinges work perfectly. Benjamin G Farmington , MO August 10, 2015 Appliance: Kenmore Dual Fuel Slide-In Range 79046813991 Oven door would not close completely was causing heat to escape and apparently causing the control panel to malfunction with an f1 error Replaced both hinges. I found that they were both sprung and causing the door to close crookedly. After the repair, the door closed better than it ever had. I bought the oven from Sears as a customer return, but didn't notice the door problem until years later. It just got worse with time. I am hopeful that the F1 problem will not return.
