Seth B Needham , MA January 02, 2015 Oven door would not close tightly I bought replacement hinges and installed them myself. The hardest part of the job was the first part: to remove the oven door you have to lock the old hinges with small brackets, and one side did not want to lock--I had to use a hammer. The door was heavier than it looks, but the only challenge after that was the fact that the edges of the door parts were sharp. I probably should have worn gloves when handling them. You have to take the door apart to insert the new hinges, but it's just unscrewing bolts. Everything fit fine and the new hinges work perfectly. 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes
