Alan H Birmingham , AL June 14, 2015 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator FRS6R3JB0 Ice dispenser no longer worked properly Initially I noticed the crusher drum was cracked and broken so I replaced the drum the retaining nut on the end of the auger and the circlip and washer. it worked fine for a time and then the drum began free wheeling. upon further inspection I discovered the retain nubs on the auger had worn down allowing the blade to slip down the auger body. so I replaced the auger, drum, drive blade, and drive cam. I recommend if you gave a problem with the ice dispenser you break down and inspect the entire assembly un the ice bin. this will save you a lot of time. in the midst of all this the drive motor burned out as well. bottom line I rebuilt the crusher back to front starting at the drive motor the only parts not replaced were the bin itself and the crusher blades. if you are mechanically inclined this is no big deal. when it comes to assembly use your camera on your phone to take pics of wiring and orientation of crusher blades for quick reference . Melvin N Littleton , NC February 11, 2017 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator FRS26LH5DQ0 My10 year old frigidaire side by side ice maker would not dispense or crush ice model frs26lh5dqo After searching the web I found APP. Their FAQ helped understand the problem, their exploded view diagrams helped locate suspect or damaged parts. In my case I found that the Drive Blade was installed backwards from the factory. So over time ( 10 years) the blade dislodged from the Drum cracking it, and by freewheeling, it wore out the stop point on the Auger. After watching the how to videos,which were to the point, no fluff. In other words excellent. I Order the reasonably priced parts, which came promptly. In a short amount of time, I was doing my End Zone Dance. Thanks APP, you've just replaced 2 sites on my favorites bar. Read More...
