Frigidaire 316549105 Membrane Switch OEM Part

We had it replaced before under warranty and realized it wasn't that difficult. At least that is what my mom said lol. I was not there for the repair. I was tasked with changing this and realized that we can probably get this part online and that is how I found AppliancePartsPros. Price was good and the shipping was fast to my surprise. My only hiccup was ordering the wrong part which was my mistake not theirs. Even after admitting my mistake to the rep, she was super kind and helpful. I must say this experience very pleasant. To the repair :) It is pretty straightforward. There are 2 screws in the front(far left and far right) which I used a phillips screwdriver to remove and then there are 2 or 3 screws in the back toward the top that hold it I believe. I used a 1/4 socket to get those out. Then the bracket comes off by popping it up. You then are met with the touch pad screws which you also need the socket for. 2 on each side. Then you push it down and out I believe. Becareful not to grab the back of this since the mainboard has resistors and speakers that you can easily break with your fingers, Grab it from the sides. Unclip all the connections to the board from the back and take her out. Remove the board by unfastening al the screws and move it to your new touchpad. Voila. Oh the ribbon cable comes out by lifting the black tabs up. not to much pressure or it will break. It is just pressing the cable against the connector so a gentle lift is all you need and pull the ribbon cable out. Same goes for the other side. Just be patient and take your time and this is a fairly simple project. Manual was useless so I hope this helps somebody. Definitely take the opportunity to wipe the stove clean of grease. You can avoid an accidental fire later on and that's priceless. :)

I bought a replacement membrane for my Frigidaire oven from AppliancePartsPros and installed it myself. I could not believe how easy the fix was. When I had the same problem 2 years ago, I hired a professional to fix it for 3x the amount of money. That said, I do believe the problem of the membrane going bad is a design flaw with the Frigidaire ovens/parts, and I anticipate that I will need to replace the part again in a few years.

I replaced the membrane that I purchased at AppliancePartsPros. It was Easy Peasy! Seriously. Unplug the stove from the electrical outlet. Then I just had to unscrew about 20 screws to release the membrane from the panel and the controller board. Then I the new membrane in and screwed it back in along with the controller board. Last step was to attach the two ribbon cables. I used to work with electronics, so I remembered that I had to open the clips on the connectors to slide the ribbon cable in and then snap the clips back. Once I did this I put the back plate on and plugged the stove back in. I heard a beep, reset the clock and tested the over and voila it worked perfect. Doing this installation myself saved me a LOT of money too ! Very happy with the results. This all took me about 30 minutes.

I replaced the old membrane with pn 316549105. There were a couple pieces I had to figure out, like finding the two screws hidden in front that held the pannel cover on how to get the ribbon cables free from the circuit boar (the sockets are very delicate). A quarter inch nut driver and stubby Philips is all you need. I did not even unplug the wiring on the back of the circuit board. For $100 more I could have gotten the circuit board included, but I figure it was the membrane that was failing as they don't last that long.

One of the easiest repairs to do. 15 or so screws and connect new membrane place screws back in and done.
