Homer G Palm City , FL June 13, 2021 Oven would not pre heat to required temperature. I read that the controller and probe controlled the oven temperature. Also read if replacing controller you should replace the overlay. So I ordered all three parts and installed myself with no problem. I took a photo with my phone prior to unplugging wires so I knew the right way to plug the wires into the new controller. Works like new. Only need a nut driver and screwdriver to repair. William P Wendell , NC February 22, 2019 Bad control board on Kenmore oven Replaced control board and front button panel due to malfunctioning electronic control board causing F30 error (temperature sensor error). Repair resolved issue and was quite simple. Note that the front button panel is a separate part that must be ordered and replaced when the ECM is replaced. After ordering the CONTROLLER we discovered we also needed the DISPLAY after talking to the Tech department. No where did it ever say when ordering this CONTROLLER you MUST also order the DISPLAY, So I ended up paying 2 Shipping charges. There must be a way to tell people about this problem. Removed back cover to get to controller. Controller was held on by four screws. Be sure to take picture of where they wires go to make it easy to install the new controller.
